they are the hunters, we are the foxes

jeans - Pepe Jeans via ASOS (similar here), cape - ASOS, top - Forever 21 (similar here), boots - Topshop

Ever since Burberry showcased their gorgeous capes at the major Fashion Weeks in 2014, the high street began stocking a wide array of capes which have dominated Autumn/Winter style. I picked up this gorgeous cape from ASOS back in October and keep forgetting to blog about it! The colours are super autumnal with burgundy, orange and cream running through it in a block style. Orange is never normally a colour I'd wear, however when it's subtle like this and teamed with burgundy, one of my favourite colours to wear, I love it.

As the cape itself is quite bold with the variety of colours, I usually just team it with a plain coloured tee, such as the one I'm wearing here. I picked up these Pepe Jeans jeans from ASOS during the sale, they were such a steal at £19.50 instead of £65. They're super comfy and are just a simple, staple wardrobe essential. The boots are a pair of classic brown Chelsea boots from Topshop and have a really nice distressed vintage look, which I adore when paired with a pair of dark skinny jeans.

I really want to expand my cape collection at the minute as I find them so versatile and perfect for this time of year. They can dress up an outfit or simply just keep you warm on cold Winter days.

What do you think of capes?

P.S. I'm aware the title of this blog post has no relevance, it's simply because I'm LOVING I Know Places by Taylor Swift currently - definitely my favourite song at the minute!

how to: Kylie Jenner lips

Kylie Jenner's lips were the talk of 2014 and she started a craze for fuller lips and nude lipsticks, like the one she's wearing in the picture above.

I adore a nude lip and it's my favourite to wear, so versatile and simple. I've been wearing a similar lip to the one pictured a lot over the past few months as I can't get enough of it.

To get Kylie Jenner's lips, all you need is Mac lip liner in Soar and Mac lipstick in Velvet Teddy. I'm 99% sure these are the products Kylie uses, if not, they're extremely close and gorgeous products. I always prep my lips with Vaseline whilst applying my face make up, particularly in Winter, as I'm prone to dry and cracked lips. The lip liner Soar is a dark pinky nude shade and a beautiful creamy texture and is available to buy for £12.50. The lipstick is part of Mac's matte collection and applies smoothly and thick to give excellent long-lasting coverage, you can purchase this for £15.50 at Mac stores and major department stores.

Firstly, I lined my lips with the liner making sure to not make much of a dip around my cupid's bow. If you notice, Kylie doesn't have a big dip round her cupid's bow and this gives the illusion of a fuller top lip. I also add more shading around the cupid's bow and to the middle of my bottom lip to create the image of fuller lips.

I then proceed to fill in my lips with Mac's Velvet Teddy, which is pretty self explanatory. This is the end result:

As someone who doesn't have the biggest of lips and am always yearning for fuller ones, these little tricks ensure that I can create the illusion that I so desperately want without even having to consider fillers!

winter warmers & current wardrobe favourites

tee - primark, shorts - ASOS, boots - Dr Martens, coat - urban outfitters, scarf - ASOS

Happy New Year! (I haven't blogged in 2015 yet due to an overwhelming amount of coursework followed by 2 exams). However, I've made it my New Years Resolution to blog at least once a week, I can't let Uni completely take over my life and stop me blogging!

It's so cold at the minute but I can't stop seem to wearing the shorts pictured. They're mum style shorts in a washed grey colour with rips in both legs. I picked them up from ASOS a couple of months ago and cannot stop wearing them at the moment. I like to wear them with a plain white tee to dress them down and my faithful Docs, as they're the comfiest and cosiest shoes for this weather! I have the softer leather ones so they've never caused me any problems with rubbing, which can sometimes be a problem with Docs, or so I've been told!

I then put on this coat that I picked up in the Urban Outfitters Christmas sales; I'd had my eye on it for a while and was so happy when it went into the sale, half price! It's 75% wool too so super cosy! Finally, I threw on my favourite accessory of the moment: this fluffy scarf. Another item I've had my eye on for months but couldn't justify spending £30 on a scarf so I was ecstatic when it went into the ASOS sale. It's white with red stripes running through it with tints of black and blue, sounds strange but it works so so well.

I'm really looking forwards to 2015, it's quite daunting with graduating University but hopefully everything falls into place and I can start a life in Germany!

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe at the minute?
