take me to Paris, let's go there and never look back

♥ Playsuit - She Likes £20  Necklace - Primark €10 (£8)  Shoes that I wore with this outfit (even though you can't see them on the picture) Jeffrey Campbell Studded Lita's

♥ Cape - Boohoo £20 ♥ Boots - ASOS (currently £33 in the sale♥ Fedora Hat - H&M

♥ Dress - Primark 15€ (£13)

Sorry for not updating in over a week but I had a busy weekend in Frankfurt and then became really sick for a few days and was off work, then it was my work Christmas do and here we are! My last day of work for two weeks is today and then I fly home on Sunday, I cannot wait!

Anyway, here is my long delayed Paris lookbook. As you may know, I went to Paris 2 weeks ago for a weekend with my friends from uni and had a wonderful time. However, the lookbook's turned out to be a bit of a fail as we couldn't get all the photos off my friends camera so I've made do with what I do have.

My evening look was the velvet cut out playsuit from SheLikes with a big statement silver and gold necklace from Primark, complete with black tights and a pair of lita's! My Saturday day look was a contrast dress, the top half being pleather, from Primark. It has mid sleeves and comes a few inches above the knee, super comfy and not fitted at all, allowed room for plenty of macaroons. I paired this with my contrast sole boots from ASOS, a plain black blazer, my black cape and a trusty fedora.

I'm going to Edinburgh for New Years so will be sure to take plenty of photos and hopefully make a successful lookbook this time!

What are your New Years plans?

Cut It Out

Cut It Out

Hey everyone,

I had such a wonderful weekend in Paris and I'll be writing big post on my weekend with a lookbook sometime early next week when I have all the photos sorted! I love Paris so much and even though the visit was only short, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and can't wait to go back!

Cut out clothing and shoes are everywhere at the minute. It started with cut out dresses, then moved to cut out tops and jumpers, now shops are embracing the cut out boots trend and I just can't get enough! I love the cut out trend and am loving the amount there is on the high street right now. Above are my personal picks from this AW13 trend.

Velvet Cut Out Shoulder Dress £28 - Dorothy Perkins
Cut Out Top by Motel @ Topshop £28 - Topshop
Jeffrey Campbell Coltranes £160 - All Sole
Jeffrey Campell Litranes £130 - Office
Leopard Playsuit by Motel @ Topshop £40 - Topshop
Royal Blue Cut Out Bralet £10 - She Likes
Club L Cut Out Cage Crop Top £37.95 - Nelly
Green Check Cut Out Dress £25 - Fashion Union

I love the velvet cut out shoulder dress, it's very simple but super Christmassy and would be perfect for Christmas day or a Christmas meal out. I love the pattern and colours of the cut out top by Motel, I think it's a simple cut but the pattern really makes it unique. There are so many dupes of the Jeffrey Campbell Coltranes now and I actually own some from New Look and they were only £30. I know that Topshop, Fashion Union and Boohoo all sell dupes too for much cheaper than the originals, so definitely check those out. The Litranes (Lita + Coltranes, see? see? Genius) are the next pair of Jeffrey Campbells on my list and I'm hoping and praying that by some miracle they'll be in the sale after Christmas...a girl can dream right? I'm not usually a big fan of leopard print but I love the vibe of this one from Topshop, the cut out's a bit different to the standard shoulders and sides cut out, I like that it's almost like a slice straight across the chest. I'm a huge fan of the colour blue so the colour of this bralet won me over already, the bow's also a really cute touch and the price is also pretty super. This Club L top screams Christmas glamour to me, it'd be perfect for a Christmas party or night out. Christmas is the perfect time to wear gold and I love the almost gladiator feel of this top. Finally is the little checked dress from Fashion Union. It's no secret that plaid is all over the high street's this AW and this simple spaghetti strap dress is gorgeous, can be dressed down the tights, boots and a leather jacket for that extra edge or dressed up with chunky heels and silver and black jewelry for more of a glam look.

What do you think of cut out clothing and shoes?

Contrast Sole Boots

Contrast Sole Boots

So, as some of you may have noticed already from the shops. Contrast sole boots are everywhere this season. I recently purchased a pair from ASOS (featured: number 3) and am in love with them. They actually arrived today which inspired me to do a piece on contrast sole boots. Here's my top contrast sole boots picks:

1. Vagabond Dioon Buckle Black Canvas White Sole - Office £74.99
I think these are my favourite contrast sole boots I've seen and the most expensive out of my 5 picks (surprise surprise). I love the chunkiness of these and the big buckles featured on the side of the shoe. Only disadvantage to these could be that they are canvas which as we all know, aren't the best shoes in bad weather.

2. Asterix Croc Chunky Lace Ups - Topshop £42
I very nearly bought this until I found the one's on ASOS. I love the crocodile skin look and the laces on these. I was a bit hesitant about these coz of how tight they might be round the ankle and could look extremely unflattering on my legs. However, they're a lovely design and a great price too.

3. ASOS Alfred Ankle Boots - ASOS £55
These are the ones I own (yay!) I am in love with them and can't wait to wear them in Paris this weekend. They have multiple small buckles on the sides going all the way up the boot and are a good thick sole. From what I've tried on of them so far, they also seem really comfortable. The heel's a chunky and a nice height which I like. As I'm only quite small (5"5) these take me up just over an inch or so which I'm very satisfied with. I'll be featuring these in a Paris lookbook I'll be doing next week.

4. Blonde & Blonde Mason Cut Out Boots - Bank £32
I don't usually shop at Bank but I really love these. They combine two of the hottest shoe trends right now, contrast sole and cut out boots. I love the indented edgy sole of these, I keep seeing this cut everywhere and I really like it. I love the little cut out's in them too, I think cut out boots can be worn both casually and can also be dressed up as they have such a unique edge.

5. Faith Black High Chelsea Boots - Debenhams £27.50 (SALE)
As you may notice above, the one's featured in my polyvore set are actually River Island boots which are now not in stock any more (sorry!) However, I found some in Debenhams from Faith which are pretty much identical and are currently on sale reduced from £50! I've linked them just above so you can see them properly. This is a more simple design and is essentially standard chelsea boots with a white sole. Very simple but very effective, again with the indented sole (sorry, I just love it so much!)

I think with contrast sole boots, you either love them or hate them. What do you think?

Week in Pictures #8

a cocktail with actually chillies in it at Sausalitos food heaven ootd: jeggings - new look
(old), jumper - new look (old), shoes - Jeffrey Campbell at Office, coat - BHS (old) before the
Frankfurt Christmas markets: hat - River Island (old) Frankfurt Christmas Markets Praktikanten
at the markets first day of advent Christmas jumper - Primark (14€) Wiesbaden Christmas

My week in pictures may as well become month in pictures at this rate! I'm awful at doing
these weekly but I will try and make more of an effort to do so. I had a pretty busy weekend
visiting both the Frankfurt and Wiesbaden Christmas Markets. They both started last week
and as I only had 3 weekends left in Germany now before Christmas, one of them in Paris,
I thought I'd best visit the markets. Me and the other interns went to Frankfurt on Saturday,
did a spot of shopping then met up with a friend in Frankfurt for the markets. It was a lovely day out. I bought a couple of things from Primark which I'll put in a haul post this week. The Markets were so busy but it was lovely to see. The others had some Glühwein, I actually don't like it so didn't have any (bad German student) and a currywurst! We then went to Coa (chain of Asian restaurants) for tea and had some yummy pad thai! We also took part in some uni students project of being filmed for a music video, which was interesting! Sunday was a bit more chilled and we ventured to Wiesbaden for the Christmas markets there. The lights all round the cathedral and town hall were stunning and it looked like something out of a fairytale. After a baileys hot chocolate and a wurst we headed home.

I'm going to Paris this weekend with friends from Uni and I'm so excited. I'll be doing a city break winter lookbook with the outfits I wear there and I'll post it next week, super excited! Not doing much else this week but I think jetting off to Paris makes up for that!

What are your plans for this week?

November Beauty Favourites

November Beauty Favourites

Now November's coming to and end, I thought it was time to do my November Beauty Favourites. There's been so many things I've been loving this month but narrowed it down to my favourite 7. In left to right order from the images at the bottom, my November Beauty Favourites are:

Burts Bees Shea Butter Hand Cream - My all time favourite hand cream and one of my favourite beauty products ever. It's a thick consistency and not runny so dries quickly into your hands and makes them feel so soft. I would advise this to anyone, best hand cream I've ever used. Can't get enough of this stuff.

Sleek Contour Kit (light) - I purchased this last month and have been using it a lot. I personally love the highlighter in it, it has a nice shimmer to it that leaves the skin glowing when applied. Does the job perfectly.

Carmex Lip Balm (cherry) - I'm a big lip balm fan and buy them a lot around this time of year as the cold weather leaves me lips really dry and chapped. This is one of my favourites as it hydrates the lips and gives a nice matte finish. It also tingles when you put it on a bit which is pretty funny.

No.7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Soft Damson - This is my favourite blusher of all time. The colour is gorgeous and is a light musky pink so it's not too harsh on the face. If you like more subtle finishes, this is the one for you. It's soft, smooth and not too strong but easily buildable.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in shade 101 - I cannot believe I only tried out the Kate Moss lipsticks for the first time last month. They're a creamy texture and leave a smooth and hydrated finish. If you don't like lipsticks because of them leaving your lips dry, especially at this time of year, try these and you won't be dissappointed. They still leave a matte finish but are a lot smoother and not as drying on the lips. This shade in particular is a light nude pink and is perfect for an everyday look, I wear it a lot for work.

Benefit That Gal Brightening Face Primer - Another new(ish) item to my make up collection is this. I'd heard people rave about this and for good reason too. It's a pearly pink colour and has a thick creamy texture. It leaves your face glowing whether you wear it alone or with foundation on top.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor - I've been a big fan of Aussie for years and always use their conditioners. I've used the 3 Minute Miracle colour treatment for a while but never had a need to use the reconstructor, which is for dry and damaged hair. However, after the 30-40 degree weather in Germany this Summer, my hair needed help. So I invested in this and I can't describe how much it's improved. I've been using it for a month or so now and my hair's getting back to being soft and nourished. Miracle stuff.

What have you been loving this month?

Top 5 Christmas Jumpers!

As we’re very nearly in December now, I decided I’d do a post about my top 5 Christmas jumper picks! In my opinion, Christmas jumpers are a necessity at this time of year, they’re super cute and cosy to wear on Christmas day, Christmas shopping or for a trip to the Christmas markets where you can indulge in Mulled wine and all things festive. The Christmas markets here in Frankfurt and Wiesbaden (near where I live here in Germany) begin this week so I shall be paying my first visit this weekend and I’ll definitely be wearing my new Christmas jumper, I featured it in my last post, but here it is again:

The snowman nose is 3D and sticks out from the jumper which I loved about this. It was only 14€ (around £12) from Primark and they had many different designs for the same price including Santa, a Christmas tree with jingle bells for baubles and a Rudolph with a 3D red nose for men! If you want a cheap Christmas jumper bargain, definitely head down to Primark as I love them.

Anyway, here are my top 5 Christmas jumpers I’ve found in stores this year:

5 - She Likes £15
4 - Boohoo £18
3 - Topshop £44
2 - Glamorous £15
1 - River Island £35

I’ve actually ranked them 1-5, 1 being my favourite etc. Obviously, I haven’t tried these on or felt the material so I’ve ranked them purely on the design of my personal choice. Number 5, is the red penguin jumper from She Likes, I really like the design of this (and the price!) The penguin on the front is super cute and the bright red colour screams Christmas. For just £16 it’s a no brainer. The next Christmas jumper I picked was the Snowman one from Boohoo. Again, it’s a bargain at just £18 and has a super cute Snowman design with snow falling around them. I’m a big fan of Boohoo but I would recommend if you want to order from there for Christmas doing it soon as I made an order for some boots last week which have still not been dispatched due to the overwhelming amount of orders they’ve had so orders at the minute could be up to 2 days longer, so get ordering now!  Number 3 on my list is the fluffy knit snowflake jumper. This one’s a bit more expensive at £44 and it’s a much more toned down, simple Christmas design. The thing that draws me in to this one is the material. These fluffy style jumpers are the warmest, cosiest jumpers ever. I own a plain black one and it’s a God send so even though it’s more expensive, I would recommend this one as it’s 99% guaranteed to keep you warm in the cold Winter days/nights to come! The Christmas jumper I ranked number 2 is actually the cheapest out of the 5 at £15 and is from It combines deep, warm, winter colours with Christmas trees, hearts, snowflakes, Christmas stockings and a cute gingerbread man in the centre of the piece. I really like the design of this jumper as there’s a lot going on, similar to Christmas itself. Finally, my favourite Christmas jumper that I’ve come across is the white Christmas fair isle jumper from River Island. It’s £35 and I absolutely love the colours used on this. I’ve never seen a Christmas jumper like this before and love how original it is. I also love that it says Christmas in huge black letters on the front surrounded by snowflake and zig zag designs.

So that’s my top 5 Christmas jumper picks ranging from £15 to £44 so I suggest if you haven’t already got a Christmas jumper this year already, to get yourself down to the shops or get online and buy one before it gets too late!

Haul - first shopping trip in Germany!

Sorry I haven't updated in just over a week or so, I was ill then my parents visited me for a few days and since they left on Monday, I've just been busy with my new exercise regime, but I won't harp on about that - back to fashion.

Nearly 2 weeks ago, I went on my first shopping trip since I've been living in Germany. It's hard to believe that as I'm a complete shopaholic but because I'd been busy spending my money on travelling to other places and sightseeing I hadn't had enough for clothes! So this was the first time I was really let loose in the shops! I went to Frankfurt as it's the nearest city to me, about half an hour away by train and spent the afternoon shopping.

I don't mean to be harsh but I'm not really a fan of German shops so stuck to H&M and Primark (boring!) but that was my choice. I ended up buying quite a bit and I'm assuming they have the same if not similar items in the UK stores so here's what I bought:
1. Snowman Christmas Jumper - Primark 14€ (£12)
2. Jaws baggy top - H&M 3€ (£2.50)
3. Aztec Jeweled Jumper - Primark 16€ (£13)
4. Fluffy black jumper - Primark 15€ (12.50)
5. Fedora Hat - H&M 15€ (£12.50)
6. Checkered cropped Blouse - Primark 3€ (£2.50)
7. Dotty black Blouse - H&M 10€ (£8)
8. Grey Cardigan - Primark 8€ (£7)

So that's everything I purchased, so I definitely did well spending wise as they were all really good value for money! I'm aware you can't really see the black fluffy jumper but it's high neck, long sleeved, quite baggy and all over black fluffiness, gorgeous! I love the snowman Christmas jumper, I believe that everyone needs a Christmas jumper at this time of year and when it hits December, I'll be wearing it 24/7 in the countdown to Christmas! I'm a big fan of Jaws and I have a little fascination with sharks so the top was perfect for me and it's just a cool top to wear casually with jeans or leggings. On my first trip to Primark, I kept picking up the aztec jeweled jumper then putting it back and decided to leave it. I then returned after I couldn't stop thinking about it and bought it and I'm really glad I did! I've wanted a fedora hat for a while to wear when I got to Paris in a couple of weeks as I think they're a lovely winter hat alternative. I'd seen the checkered blouse in Primark in the UK a while ago and it's still in the sale over here so picked it up as it's nice for work and was a total bargain! The dotty black blouse I just really liked and again is useful for work but also tucked into high waisted jeans or disco pants for more of an evening look! Finally, I bought a standard short thin dark grey cardigan as I find these little cardigans so useful to wear under a thick coat so you're not too hot or too cold! All in all, it was a very successful first shopping experience in Frankfurt, hopefully more to come!

I'm calling you at 3am and I'm standing here right outside your door

Boots - New Look, Cape - Boohoo, Faux Fur Cape - Boohoo, Top - Topshop (old), Cardigan - H&M (old), Leggings - Boohoo

The title of this post is to mark today's amazing amazing news of the McBusted tour! I'm crossing everything that I get tickets as I'll be home for Easter for the Liverpool date, two of my favourite bands together eeee. Anyway, back to the post. Here is today's outfit of the day. The winter's really set in now here in Germany and it was around 5 degrees today, so layers were most definitely needed! I had work today but my office is "casual wear" so can wear pretty much whatever I want so I wore my new leggings from Boohoo, they have tiny checks on them and are super thick and cosy. I paired it with an old pinky maroon tee shirt from Topshop which I've had a couple of years now, a plain H&M cardigan and my new cape, also from Boohoo which I added a faux fur scarf to, to give it that extra wintery feel. The boots are pretty much exact replicas of the Jeffrey Campbell Coltranes, however they were only £29.99 from New Look. They're obviously not leather but they're still comfy and for £100 cheaper than the originals, I really couldn't complain. They're my favourite shoes at the minute and I've been wearing them to death, would 100% recommend as a cheap alternative.

Week in Pictures #7

me and my best friends in Frankfurt a couple of weeks back ootd: blazer - H&M £15 SALE, jeans - New Look £22.99, vest top - H&M £3.99, boots - New Look £30 ootd: cardigan - primark (old), jeans - New Look £22.99, top - Forever 21 (old), boots - TK Maxx (old), scrunchie - American Apparel 6 euros my eye, obviously, showing off the L'Oreal Paris 4D Lash Architect Mascara, Currywurst at the best Currywurst place in Germany (official) Edelweiss Currywurst in Hamburg before an adventure on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg! the new playsuit I ordered for Paris from She Likes me, Charlie and Sareena before a meal out at a Mexican restaurant Spätzle ♥

Now that I'm in a 9-5 "job" (placement) I don't have as much of a life so have had to spread my week in pictures over the past two weeks! Especially as I've had a pretty chilled weekend with 2 of my best friends so haven't done much at all! Last weekend, I went to Hamburg with Charlie to visit one of our friends, Paddy. It was an amazing weekend, we always have such a laugh together and my experience of the infamous Reeperbahn was interesting to say the least! I also went a bit crazy with online shopping last week which included a massive buy from Boohoo and the playsuit above from She Likes. I'm heading to Paris in just under 5 weeks with some of my uni friends and I thought it would be the perfect outfit for Saturday night. I finally got my velvet scrunchie that I've wanted for a while. After walking the wrong way to American Apparel in Frankfurt (sorry Sareena!) I finally got one for 6 euros, I love it. A couple of weeks ago, one of my best friends came to visit Frankfurt as there's 3 of us already in Germany on year abroad out of our 4-women friendship group, the girls I live with at uni and the girls I consider some of my closest friends in the world. It was so amazing to spend time as a 4 again as we hadn't seen Biki since June! Finally, I went for lunch today at the local "Brauhaus" in Idstein, where I'm currently living and spending my year abroad. I had Spätzle which is like egg pasta noodles with sausage, cheese, carrots and peas. It sounds funny but it's actually really nice and the only thing I can think to compare it with is Mac n Cheese but nicer!

I've had a pretty hectic October and am now looking forwards to a relaxed November and with the Christmas markets starting at the end of the month, things should really start to feel festive.

What has your week been like and what are your November plans?

Autumn Knits

Sorry I haven't posted in over a week now, it's been a pretty busy week! I was in Hamburg last weekend then had work this week but I've been sick and have been off work for a couple of days. However, I'm feeling much better now and can get 100% focus back on the blog. I'll have a huge boohoo haul coming up in the next couple of weeks as I ordered a whole load of winter essentials as they currently have 20% off using the code Winter20 so get shopping here as this offer ends Sunday!

As Winter's drawing in, it's essential that you have some knitwear to complete your staple winter wardrobe. This years high street is full of fluffy, cropped and cut out jumpers making AW13 one of the most statement filled seasons the high streets seen in a while. I've chosen some of my top Autumn Knits from the AW13 high street collections including all the current trends straight from the catwalk:

Knitted Fluffy Cropped Jumper - Topshop
Longline Tartan Jumper - Boohoo
Blue Aztec Print Knitted Cardigan - Fashion Union
Wine Coloured Oversized Cut Out Sleever Jumper - She Likes
Dogtooth Knit Jumper - Boohoo

My personal favourite from these Autumn Knits is the dogtooth jumper from Boohoo, at only £15 it's an absolute steal for your Winter wardrobe. So treat yourself and top up on some knitwear, as with the cold weather ahead, you always have the excuse that it's a necessity.

Asos Africa

It's been a few days since I posted as I had a super busy weekend and was so tired yesterday evening that I just sat in bed watching TOWIE! As some of you may know, Asos have launched a new collection called Asos Africa. The collection is Masai-inspired and combines on trend plaid and leopard print along with other African style pieces. Asos are also doing their bit by working with a small Kenyan community in order to produce the clothes to allow underprivileged communities to establish sustainable work. I think it's a great and unique collection by combining AW13 trends with traditional African wear. Here's my top picks from the collection:

You can shop the Asos Africa collection and see more of it here.

Victorious Velvet

As we're nearing Winter now, it's the perfect time of year for an ever growing trend, velvet! It's all over the shops at the minute and is perfect for this time of year. Whether it's casual velvet shorts or the perfect velvet dress for evening drinks, you simply cannot go wrong with this trend.

Black Cross Back Velvet Playsuit - She Likes
Black Velvet Scrunchie - River Island
Navy Check Velvet Shorts - Topshop
Office Taboo T Bar Velvet Shoes - Office
Mesh Insert Velvet Bodysuit - Boohoo

I'm obsessing over velvet scrunchies at the moment and desperately want one but it's proving difficult in Germany so may have to end up ordering one on ebay! The velvet playsuit I think is gorgeous and would be a lovely winter going out outfit or even dressed down with tights and ankle boots, it's very flexible in the way it can be worn! The shoes are very classic and a beautiful maroon colour, can be worn with disco pants for a casual look or a dress for a more dressed up look. The bodysuit again would be a lovely going out piece, teamed with a skater skirt to emphasise the waist. The shorts are a little more "out there" for those who want to match two huge on point trends at the minute, tartan and velvet.

Beauty Haul

So when I was back in the UK at the weekend I picked up a lot of new make up from Boots, Superdrug and duty free! I find the make up selection to be considerably smaller in Germany so was waiting to go home to stock up and do a proper shop! I ended up buying a lot more than I needed as per usual but I just couldn't stop buying!

Here's some of the face make up I bought:

1 - No.7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Soft Damson £8
2 - L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation in Vanilla £9.99
3 - 17 Miracle Matte Skin Primer £4.99 Benefit Brightening Face Primer £22.50
4 - L'Oreal Paris True Match Concealer in Vanilla £6.99
5 -  Benefit Brightening Face Primer £22.50
6 - Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light £6.49

I absolutely love the No.7 Blusher in soft damson, it's my favourite blusher of all time. It's subtle and not too in your face pink and stays on the whole day when you apply it and it's got such a super soft texture, I'd really recommend it! My favourite foundation at the minute is the L'Oreal True Match Foundation, it's very light and doesn't feel thick or heavy on the face. It's very blendable and leaves a smooth finish. I've never used the Benefit Primer but I've been advised to try it out so thought I would, I did a quick swatch of it and it seems really nice with a bit of a sheen to it, looking forwards to trying it properly! I also bought the cheaper 17 primer to compare the two at both ends of the price scale and will probably make a future post about it when I've tried them both properly! The L'Oreal true match concealer is similar to the foundation in the fact that it's light and blends well and gives a nice even coverage. Also my first time trying out the Sleek Contour Kit, a lot of vloggers and bloggers rave about this so thought I'd give it a try, I did a quick test earlier and it does seem to do the desired job well!

Here's the eye make up I bought:

1 - L'Oreal Lash Architect 4D Mascara in Black Lacquer £10.99
2 - Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Liner in Black Glamour £5.29
3 - Rimmel Scandel Eyes Flex Mascara in Black £6.99

As you may have guessed, I'm a big L'Oreal Paris fan and this mascara is no exception. It's a fine brush but really does wonders on your eyelashes and no clumps! So far I really like the Rimmel liquid liner after being advised it by so many people as I'd been using Max Factor and was less than impressed! It stays on all day and doesn't smudge at all. I got the Rimmel Scandal Eyes mascara free as Boots currently have an offer on if you spend £10 on Rimmel and you get it free. I've been using it the past few days and it's quite good! Not the best mascara I've ever used but for free I definitely can't complain!

Finally, a few lipsticks:

1 - Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in 101 £5.49
2 - No.7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in Classic Rose £9.50
3 - Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in 016 £5.49
I love all three of these lipsticks and don't have a single complaint - sorry no criticisms here! The Rimmel Lipstick in 101 is my favourite from the three and is a very neutral rose pink and quite a musky colour. It matches most things I wear as it's a neutral subtle pink. This lipstick is very soft and smells lovely, I know that doesn't matter much but nice smelling things always entice me! It's hydrating too and leaves the lips feeling soft and not too dry, especially in this cold weather we've started to get (in Germany anyway!) The No.7 lipstick is a deeper pink but not too bright so can still be worn as an everyday shade but can also we worn at night too, I find this shade works both ways as it's very classic. It applies smoothly and is very nourishing to the lips. Finally, the Rimmel lipstick in 016 is more of a barbie pink. It's a very pale pink and looks very sweet and girly when on, not everyone's cup of tea but the lipstick in general I'd recommend purely for the texture and nourishment it provides!

Lust for Leather

As you may know, leather and faux leather are a massive trend at the minute storming the UK high street. It was featured a lot in PFW and LFW and is the ultimate punk look. The leather trend has been seen on many fashionable celebs including RihannaMiley Cyrus and Cara Delevingne. I've loved the leather trend since I was about 16 when I purchased my first faux-leather skirt and I wore it to death! It's remained a favourite fashion frenzy of mine and here are my favourite picks from the AW13 collections the high street has to offer:

Black Perforated PU Peplum Dress - Glamorous
Leather Biker Jacket - Mango through House of Fraser
Strapped Leather-look Bralet - Topshop
Black Wet Look Zip Front Joggers - River Island

Firstly, leather joggers are a huge trend at the minute and are my personal favourite from this small selection of (faux) leather luxuries! If you don't feel confident wearing fitted leather trousers, then these are perfect for you. They're more elasticated so have more give if you're a little bit body confident, like myself, and would go perfect with a dainty pair of strapped heel sandals or closed toe pointed heels. I'll probably put together a look with these joggers later in the week! If you're feeling super fierce and confident, you can team them with the bralet above to create a beautiful faux leather two piece. The leather jacket is a staple wardrobe item for most girls, they're so useful and cosy for this Autumn to Winter weather where it's too mild for a big coat but too cold for a thin cardigan so a leather/faux leather jacket is the perfect solution and they'll last you years, I bought my faux leather jacket from Vero Moda in 2009 and it's still doing me proud to this day! Finally, the faux leather peplum dress is a lovely option for winter night's out, whether it's to a club or even just a bar and the best part is that it's super flattering for all shapes and sizes! Pair it with a killer pair of black heels similar to these or if you're more of a statement shoe girl like myself, try something a little more out there like this.

Terrific Tartan

So I'm aware I haven't posted in a few months but all this is changing, fingers crossed! In the past few months, I've lacked motivation, not just with blogging, with a lot of other things too but I'm finally getting back on track and have a page full of ideas written down for future posts which I'm really excited about!

I moved to Germany for my year abroad in July and have started my job, I'm really enjoying it and it's going well, I think! I've just come back from the UK for a few days as I took a couple of days off and went for a long weekend to see my family for the first time since July!

Anyway, back to the current post! Tartan is everywhere at the minute on the UK high streets and was all over LFW too. It's one of the massive Autumn/Winter trends and with good reason. I personally think tartan can suit anyone, it doesn't have to be a tartan dress or trousers but something more subtle such as a scarf or bag to tie an outfit together. I'm actually guilty of not owning anything tartan but am currently on the hunt for the perfect tartan scarf so when/if I find one, I'll let you know! Here's my top tartan picks from the high streets A/W collections:

Blue Check High Waisted Trousers - River Island
Check Tote Bag - click Mango
Tessa Red Tartan Skater Skirt - She Likes
Tartan Doll Pinafore - Topshop

I absolutely love the tartan pinafore from Topshop and it's my favourite tartan item I've seen gracing the shops so far! Pinafore's are also back this season too so this number is combining two hot trends into one super hot trend. I think the tartan skater skirt is a standard staple piece that is flattering and can be easily worn by many. The trousers are similar to one's seen on the wonderful Cara Delevingne which have boosted the popularity of tartan trousers massively as she's leading the way with that trend! Finally, the tote bag is perhaps an item for those who don't want to wear such a bold piece as the bag is a little more subtle and would be the perfect winter handbag to give an all black outfit a pop of colour.

Topshop Summer Steals!

Hey guys!

Seeing as we're in Summer now, I thought it was time I chose a few of my favourite picks from one of my favourite high street stores, Topshop. I've selected a few of my favourite Topshop Summer items which are definitely on my wish list!

Tropical Number Skater Dress - click here
African Safari Tube Skirt - click here
Luckier Hi-Vamp Wedge Heels - click here
Dip Dye Runner Shorts - click here

My favourite pick are the lime coloured hi-vamp wedges, I adore the colour and style of the shoe and if I had a spare £65, I'd definitely be buying them! Ah well, a girl can dream! Happy shopping!

Forever 21 Haul!

Hey guys! I'm back, for good this time (providing I have no major major distractions). I've had a busy month with exams and coursework deadlines but I have officially finished my 2nd year of Uni and will be heading off on my year abroad at the end of July to do a work placement, I can't wait! I'll be blogging about my year abroad experiences on here daily when I go as I'm sure I'll be travelling around Germany and to other countries!

As some of you may have guessed from previous posts, I love Forever 21. It's one of my favourite stores simply because the clothes are cute and cheap, which is perfect when you live on a budget like myself! If you live in the UK, you may not have ever been in a Forever 21 as there's only a few around the country but if you're ever in Manchester, Birmingham or London, make sure you pay it a visit! I couldn't recommend it more.

Anyway, back to my post. I recently went a bit mad in Forever 21 and ended up buying enough to make a full post on my items. I apologise if some of the things I'm posting about aren't in store anymore but Forever 21 has a quicker change over than any other shop I know! There's constantly new stock, which is why when I see something I love, I buy it there and then to avoid disappointment!

For anyone that knows me, you'll know that I love watching cycling so when I saw that tote bag and tee, I thought they were perfect for me. I think the bicycle prints are so cute and I can't stop wearing the tee. I've not used the tote yet but I'm sure I will, tote bags are just one of those things that always come in useful and for £2.40 I couldn't resist. I'm in love with the colour lime at the minute and actually bought this basic lime tee to go with a pair of black and white patterned trousers I bought from Forever 21 a few months ago! I had nothing to wear them with and wanted a brighter colour to add some colour to the outfit. I've wanted a pair of shorts like those palm tree design ones for a while. They fit really nicely and hang quite loosely on the hips, which makes them super comfy. They're so soft and light, perfect for taking on holiday! Finally, I'm addicted to buying skater skirts and loved this cute floral pattern as it's perfect for summer (when we finally get some nice weather) to wear casually in the day with a bright basic tee and some pumps.

I'm so excited for my next post, I'll be writing about this super cute beanie I bought and I cannot stop wearing it, despite it being a little too warm to wear beanie's at the minute!

One Day We're Gonna Live in Paris, I Promise

River Island maxi skirt

Topshop shoes

I'm such a bad blogger, I apologise profusely. I have no excuses for not updating in nearly 3 weeks :| I just had "writers block" and had no clue what to blog about. In other news, what is this weather?! It's March and snowing! Seriously?! I thought we'd gotten over this super cold weather for now!! Cannot wait for Summer and seeing all the Summer clothes and bikini's starting to fill the stores is exciting me even more!

This outfit set I based on an outfit I wore when I went to Paris last July to watch the Tour de France! It's very suitable for a Summer city break and very Paris. I love maxi skirts, I think they're cool and light for Summer and super flattering. I own a very similar one to this, except mine's from Marks & Spencers and was £4 in the sale. I love crop tops, however I don't have the stomach for them, so if like me, you're not confident in showing your tummy, try a basic h&m strapless top in black, they're about £4 and go perfectly with maxi skirts! I'm in love with those Topshop sandals and wish I could justify spending £50 on a pair of sandals, unfortunately my bank balance doesn't agree :( a simple black clutch ties the outfit together without taking attention away from the emerald green skirt.

I based this outfit on a similar one of my own, pictured here:

skirt: marks and spencers £4 (old), top: h&m £4, bag: Nica (TK Maxx) £20, sunglasses: forever 21 (old)
